MCE Rescues Early TiBooks with DVD/CDRW Combo Drive

$299 drive gives original TiBook parity with iBook and Ti Combo models.
Got a first-generation TiBook with an extreme case of DVI PB envy? MCE has the
solution.
For $299 (the same price Apple charged for their Combo drive upgrade on later TiBooks,
MCE will supply and install a slot-loading Combo drive in place of your pedestrian old
DVD-ROM.
MCE says turnaround is usually only one business day, maybe two. The MCE Combo drive
is compatible with OS X, OS 9, iTunes, Disc Burner, and Apple DVD Player. It is also
bootable.
The 8x8x8x24 drive has a 12-month warranty, and works with all 400 and 500MHz
PowerBook G4s (January 2001).
You need to ship your PowerBook to MCE for this work, and freight charges (available
on enquiry) are extra. MCE also supply expansion bay drives for the G3 Series
PowerBooks, and will even upgrade your PowerBook G3 (Kanga), 2400 or 3400 to CardBus
to accommodate FireWire cards.

Analysis: A well-priced upgrade, particularly if you need to burn backups on the road
and don''t want to carry a FireWire CDRW around. Not only will it make your G4 a more
useful tool, but it will also enhance its resale value and stop you upgrading - for a
