InsideX: An Introduction To Mac OS X Books

"Nearly a year ago I collected a list of available and yet-to-be-published books about
Mac OS X. The list of those available was miniscule, and we had to wait another 6
months before we saw the most anticipated X book, David Pogue''s ''Mac OS X: The
Missing Manual.''
"Today the picture has changed dramatically, with Amazon listing 50 books about ''Mac
OS X.'' Well, actually it is more like 40 books after you weed out the out-of-print
and yet-to-be-published, then add in the specialized books that my Amazon search left
out. I was quite amused to discover that one of the very first books announced for
publishing in the spring of last year, ''Mac OS X Clearly Explained� by John Rizzo,
remains unpublished! Vapor paper deluxe. I was also amazed to find that there is
already a 10.2 book on the slate for publishing: ''Mac OS X 10.2: Visual Quickstart
Guide.'' Bravo Maria Langer! (That girl has to be the hardest working MOSX writer in
the business, and you can''t go wrong reading her books)."
