iCab Gets Jaguar Compatibility with 2.8.2
By Remy Davison, Insanely Great Mac
September 20th 2002
Still the only OS X/PPC/68K browser under continuing development.
iCab Software has released version 2.8.2 of its popular OS X, Classic and 68K browser.
Notionally still in ''preview'' mode, iCab is a full-featured browser with strict
adherence to HTML standards. Version 2.8.2 is a maintenance update with provides full
compatibility with Apple''s OS X.2 ''Jaguar'' upgrade.
For Java compatibility, iCab requires Apple''s MRJ installed.
iCab is available in a large number of European and Asian language localizations. You
can also register the full-featured version, iCab Pro, for $US29, which will assist in
the development costs of iCab.
Analysis: I''ve always liked iCab and run it on OS X, PPC and 68K machines. The OS X
version is the best yet, and smoother, most robust and faster than the PPC and 68K
versions.
