You still have a few weeks left to take advantage of the mothership's OS X Up-To-Date 
discount

If you purchased a copy of X.1 or a qualifying Mac after on or after July 18, you're 
eligible for Apple's Mac OS X Up-To-Date discount program, but time is running out. 
You need to need place your order for Jaguar and have postmarked no later than Oct 31.

Here's a quote from Apple's Up-To-Date page:

"Apple would like to give you the opportunity to upgrade to Mac OS X v10.2 Jaguar. 
Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac OS X v10.1 retail product or a new Macintosh 
computer on or after July 17, 2002, that does not have Mac OS X v10.2 Jaguar included 
can upgrade to Mac OS X v10.2 �Jaguar� for US$19.95."

In through the back door

If you haven't purchased a qualifying new Mac or X.1, you can still get in on Apple's 
Up-To-Date discount and pick up a copy of 9.2.1 in the bargain. Mac-Resourceis 
offering X.1 bundled with a copy of 9.2.1 for $34.99. With ground shipping ($5), the 
total comes to $40.

If you then purchase Jaguar via Up-To-Date, your final purchase price is $70 total 
and, remember, you've also got a copy of Classic. Not too shabby.
