QT Showcase: WBUR launches new stream
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac

This Boston NPR station now comes to market via QuickTime

WBUR, an NPR affiliate in Boston, MA, has begun streaming its broadcast via QuickTime.
Previously, the station only offered its programing via Windows Media Player and Real.

WBUR was able to provide the third stream with the help of Tech Superpowers, a Boston
Apple specialist that's also a long-time supporter of the NPR station. The Mac vendor,
whose client list includes Inc Magazine and Staples, provided WBUR with a dual-G4
server.

With QuickTime Broadcaster and it's built-in MPEG-4 support can offer a high-quality
stream that uses only a fraction of the bandwidth used by other formats.

Editor's note: If you're a regular NPR listening, WBUR's quality can't be beat.

IGM picked up this story from MacCentral.
