In addition to fixing the 'number one crasher,' this dot-update includes better
AppleScript and Shockwave Player support
OmniWeb beta 4.2 is now available for download from Version Tracker. The OmniGroup
itself hasn't made an announcement, but details about release include:
... OmniWeb now supports the Macromedia Shockwave Player and the PDF Browser plug-in
from Schubert;
... When a download completes we again place the URL used to retrieve the file in
the file's comment field which is viewable in Finder Get Info windows. (This will only
work under Mac OS X 10.2 or later);
... OmniWeb now supports images with embedded ColorSync profiles when the Images
preference is enabled;
... OmniWeb's AppleScript support has been improved and now allows access to your
bookmarks;
... This version includes a fix for a problem that had many pages rendering blank in
the previous beta; and
... This version includes a fix for the number one crasher in OmniWeb 4.2 beta 1
which accounted for more then 50 percent of crash reports received on that version (ie
heavy browsing of pages with forms).

Editor's note: OmniWeb managers have intimated that they are considering switching the
browser from their own proprietary browser engine to the open-source engine used in
Safari, Konqeuror.
The burnished Apple Script functionality looks like a tasty addition to this popular
browser.
However, it is worth noting that the most-glaring missing feature is still missing:
CSS support.
