Speculation: GeForce FX Go5600, Go5200 Coming to Mac Portables?

In the 'year of the laptop', nVidia plans to be a major player.
nVidia's push into the laptop graphics card market over the last two years has
resulted in Apple adopting some of the cards in its latest PowerBook G4-12.1" and
G4-17". Today, nVidia confirmed it has been shipping samples of its Go5600 and Go5200
to laptop makers over the past month, Reuters reports.
Based on nVidia's 5600 and 5200 desktop graphics card designs, these will be the
company's high-end mobile chipsets.
Currently, Apple's older Titanium PowerBook G4-15.2" retains its ATI Radeon 9000
chipset, while all iBooks come with the older Radeon 7500. Conversely, the PowerBook
12 and 17, announced at MWSF in January, come with GeForce4 Go420 and Go440, with 32MB
and 64MB of VRAM, respectively.
The nVidia 5200 is made with the older 0.15 micron process, while the 5600 employs
0.13 micron technology.
The high-end desktop nVidia 5800 is Mac OS (and Linux) compatible, and the
supercharged MSI FX5800 Ultra-TD8X, based on the 5800, includes such niceties as a TV
tuner and hardware MPEG-2 decoding. Recently, ATI released its Radeon 9800 as a
counter to nVidia's forthcoming-but-delayed 5800.
