Logic Audio 6 Wins Award, Showered With Praise by Music Tech
By Remy Davison, Insanely Great Mac
March 31st 2003

Ownership by a "corporate giant" notwithstanding, Emagic still the darling of the
digital audio set.

Apple-owned Emagic is proudly blowing its own trumpet, quoting lengthily and
approvingly from the British-based Music Tech magazine, which has awarded Logic
Platinum 6 its MTM Excellence Award.

"Emagic might be owned by a corporate giant, but it still loves its users."

[Well, that damns Apple with faint praise, doesn't it?]

Not enough? MTM waxes still more lyrically:

"It would be journalistically foolish to say that any piece of software is the
definitive version; but you have to ask, what more could users possibly want?"

Analysis: Wintel users might say, "Logic's PC version back?" Apple killed that
version, of course. And it's as yet unclear what, precisely, Apple plans for Emagic,
unless it's some killer prosumer audio app for Mac. After all, despite all Emagic's
success, there must be an overwhelming temptation for Cupertino to, well, do
something with all that nice audio application code. And it's not like they bought
that tech to bang new widgets into iTunes now, is it?
