I have experience with both Linux and OS X. My Linux boxes sit unused after I've seen the majesty of OS X. I've written extensively about Apache and OS X: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/ct/49 > 2) I have not seen anyting about mod_perl w/Apache on OS X, but I assume >that since OS X is Unix based that it would work. Is that correct? mod_perl is installed by default on OS X, along with Apache. >If the linux version of perl runs on OS X >then why the buzz over the current release of MacPerl? MacPerl is for the Classic / OS 9 and below environment. MacPerl allows you to reach out into the normal Finder and create Mac GUIs, or else interact with AppleScript and so on and so forth. The Perl shipped with OS X is the standard Linux Perl available to all Linux distributions - it doesn't have the power to natively reach out to the Finder (but there's been some progress in that area). -- Morbus Iff ( i'm the droid you're looking for ) Culture: http://www.disobey.com/ and http://www.gamegrene.com/ Tech: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/au/779 - articles and weblog icq: 2927491 / aim: akaMorbus / yahoo: morbus_iff / jabber.org: morbus
