True. I made the assumption that "upgrading" meant "going to 5.8".

Interesting. This deserves a decent look. I've been using perl2exe on Windows (and a custom script on Classic Mac). I've got my code tweaked in such a way that, even with the runtimes, I'm still shipping the raw Perl. I'm hoping PAR can do this as well (it should be able to, me thinks).
