Thank you for your reply. This is the output for the test failing. Thank you too for letting me know about the verbose option. It's quite useful although I'm still lost.

Doesn't tell you much, does it? You can problaby install DBD::mysql and not have any problems, but you should send this output to the DBD::mysql maintainer to make sure.
