WHY??? Apple's installer has nothing to do with installing CPAN modules. NOTHING.

There are Perl packages, follow the link below:

<http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/unix_open_source/perl.html>

From the documentation it would upgrade my 5.6 to 5.8 on my Jaguar server.

I said there were no installer packages of PERL MODULES that I'm aware of. The above is a pre-packaged installer for an old, outdated version (5.8.0) of Perl. It doesn't include any CPAN modules, and there are no CPAN modules on the site you pointed to.

What's more - a newer Perl wouldn't help you. The procedure for installing CPAN modules is IDENTICAL for Perl 5.6 and 5.8. Have you even TRIED to follow the instructions you've been given for running the CPAN shell????

Please, just read and follow the instructions you've been pointed to. And ignore the "anonymous friend" who told you to drag-and-drop module files, and told you that CPAN doesn't work on Jaguar. He's completely clueless.
