I believe you can get mono via Fink, but I've soured on Fink after
several of those upgrade circles of hell where package A depends on
version X of library L but package B depends on version Y and the two
versions refuse to cohabitate and ...
Well, anyhow. I built Mono on my lonesome (but not Gtk for Gtk#,
sadly) and made a DMG of an installer package for it. You can get it
from:
http://nathan.torkington.com/mac/monocore-0.30.2.dmg
I don't know whether you need Developer Tools installed for it to work.
I don't believe it links against any X11 libraries, but I wouldn't be
prepared to swear on that with anything valuable at stake.
If, like me, you've always been curious about C# and Mono and wanted to
play, here's your chance. I tried the ByteFX MySQL library and it
works a charm.
