CPAN problem

I've recently installed Perl 5.8.6 into /usr/local/bin whilst keeping the 
System 5.6.0 (this on Jag) and whenever I try to install a module ( a la `perl 
-MCPAN -e 'install Foo:Bar') CPAN is using 5.6.0.

What's the easiest way to get CPAN to use 5.8.6?
