Hello, The readline support for MacPorts is disabled by default and has to be enabled using --enable-readline. The release disk images we release are built with support for that. But on running selfupdate, there is no --enable-readline in the default configure flags, no matter if the currently installed version supports readline or not. So everyone updating using selfupdate will have port without readline support.
