Install programs to ${applications_dir}. When people upgrade crap will be left over in /Applications/KDE4. What's the best way to deal with this?

If it's necessary data, users will have to move it to wherever it's now needed.

If it's unnecessary, they can delete it.

It's unnecessary. It's the bundles left over that launch the programs.

Were they not part of the destroot, or why are they not being removed when the old port is uninstalled?
