For what it's worth, this is the type of situation I had in mind
for the
merge-universal portgroup.[[BR]]
I have not yet had time to add merge-universal to any ports in the
trunk
(only my local repository), but I can look into it.
With all the 64-bit issues I'm seeing with various ports of mine, or
more especially with the reports of 64-bit issues from others which
have no readily-apparent symptoms, I'm about ready to use use the
merge-universal portgroup for every port.
