Fix +universal:
- Update the reinplace regexp to match the current sources
- Work-around base's automake-specific setting of --disable- dependency-tracking

In what way was the universal build broken?

In the ways I endeavored to list in the commit log.

I've had zlib installed universal for ages, and rebuilt it again a few days ago, and "lipo -info" shows that libz.dylib is universal.
Is what I've got not a proper universal build?

The port is zip, not zlib.
