It still would have been nice to do Base-32 instead Base-16 hex, but it doesn't matter now that it's released without that feature. And I guess shorter Portfiles (52 versus 64 characters) isn't as important as compatibility with other external checksumming tools. Unfortunately sha256(1) is still disabled in Apple's libmd, but you can use "shasum -a 256" if you need a non-MacPorts version...
