svn 1.8.0 doesn't want to authenticate to MacPorts' svn, this is probably due
to the bug in serf discussed on the subversion -users lists

didn't verify, but it seems likely)...
would it be reasonable to get KeepAlive set to 'on' (which is probably useful
anyway)? Hopefully a new serf release will happen shortly which will fix this,
but in the meantime it would make things easier for me ;-)
incidentally, I've got subversion 1.8.0 working (and ready for a commit along
with all of the bindings ports) but I don't want to break every MacPorts
developer who is using svn - so unless I hear otherwise from everyone, I'll sit
on it until either we get a MacPorts svn config update or we get a new serf
(1.3?) that fixes this issue.
I guess another option would be to patch our serf
(http://code.google.com/p/serf/source/detail?r=1991) ... I haven't checked to
see if this applies cleanly to serf 1.2.1 (or if it actually fixes the issue or
not), though.
Thoughts?
I said to Daniel privately, but re-iterate, I suggest waiting for the
next serf and svn 1.8.1. Is anybody in a rush to get 1.8.0?
