Hi, folks. With PHP 8.5 arriving in a couple of weeks, I would like to know what can be done to get MacPorts' PHP infrastructure back into a usable state for 8.3/8.4/8.5.
I have a branch that duplicates BjarneDMat's PR (https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/28140) & eliminates the first commit (which seems to modify .gitignore for no reason). Should I open a PR for that? As far as I can tell, apart from the size of the PR, all of the feedback from maintainers has been addressed. What is the path forward here? Should Bjarne's PR be broken into smaller ones? Should the 8.5-specific changes be plucked out into a PR just for them? Or is his PR in a good enough place that it can now be pulled into the main MacPorts repo (once the draft status is removed)? Please advise, -- Kevin Boyd
