valgrind? (was Fwd: [Bug 417004] python crashes when loading gnome bindings.)

So what is the Darwin equivalent of valgrind and strace so we can isolate this problem with gnome? Since by definition "Valgrind is an award-winning suite of tools for debugging and profiling Linux programs" and there is no interest on their part in making it work for PPC hardware, what other options are there?

Though I have no idea whether valgrind runs on darwin at all...
