Hi - I am trying to install macports on my macbook (osx10.4.9), primarily to run nemesis.
Having installed the binary 1.4, sucessfully, when I run %sudo port selfupdate I get this error. sudo port selfupdate Password: DarwinPorts base version 1.400 installed Downloaded MacPorts base version 1.442 Configuring, Building and Installing new MacPorts base Error: /opt/local/bin/port: selfupdate failed: Error installing new MacPorts base: shell command "cd /opt/local/var/db/dports/sources/rsync.rsync.darwinports.org_dpupdate1/base && ./configure --prefix=/opt/local --with-install-user=root --with-install-group=admin --with-tclpackage=/Library/Tcl && make && make install" returned error 1 Command output: checking build system type... i686-apple-darwin8.9.1 checking host system type... i686-apple-darwin8.9.1 checking target system type... i686-apple-darwin8.9.1 checking for gcc... no checking for cc... no checking for cl.exe... no configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH See `config.log' for more details. Sorry to be fick - but, what the hell? Any advice much appreciated. Marc
