I don't think any of this exists in MacPorts today.
Possible exception: trace mode, to detect undeclared dependencies.
"sudo port -t install foo" (Trace mode has changed a lot in 1.6.)
And also: "sudo port lint foo" to do syntax checking and also to warn
about missing required variables and such. (Available in 1.6.)
