I am not a user of nano, but I think you need the +color variant of nano. $ port variants nano [...] color: Enable color syntax highlighting Use the following commands to install nano with this variant: $ sudo port deactivate nano $ sudo port install nano +color > P.s This is my first post to a mailing list so apologies if I have > broken any etiquette.
