Hi,

I'm trying to write a new portfile for the development version of GNU Prolog.
The software compiles fine from the command-line using the usual configure&make
incantation but it fails when trying the compilation from within MacPorts
(latest version) with a puzzling error during the configure phase:

...
checking for sys/param.h... yes
checking for getpagesize... no
checking for working mmap... no
checking for mprotect... no
checking for mallopt... no
checking for fgetc... no
checking for atanh... no
checking for acosh... no
checking for asinh... no
checking for socket... no
checking for socket in -lsocket... no
configure: error: cannot find socket library
shell command " cd
"/opt/local/var/macports/build/_Users_pmoura_ports_lang_gprolog-devel/work/gprolog-1.4.0/src"
 && ./configure --prefix=/opt/local
--prefix=/opt/local/var/macports/build/_Users_pmoura_ports_lang_gprolog-devel/work/destroot/opt/local
 --with-install-dir=/opt/local/lib/gprolog-1.4.0
--with-examples-dir=/opt/local/share/gprolog-1.4.0
--with-doc-dir=/opt/local/share/gprolog-1.4.0 " returned error 1
Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: configure failure: shell command
failed

Any hints are appreciated. Thanks,

Paulo
