I didn't have access to the developer previews. I'm using 4.2 final:

$ xcodebuild -version
Xcode 4.2
Build version 4D199
$

Just tried building py27-matplotlib again and it chooses llvm-gcc-4.2.
I'm not too familiar with Tcl but is there a way I can see what Tcl is
doing in order to choose this compiler?
