Can I ask a follow-up question please?

I was trying to use Emacs 23.2 in terminal using Macport. After setting up
Macport and installing emacs:
        sudo port install emacs

I found that launching emacs from the terminal did not load my .emacs
config file, which using Emacs.app
did so. Does Macport create a default location for storing the
configuration file? I put my .emacs under
my home directory.

Please advise. Thank you!
