You said you didn't know where abiword got installed by MacPorts. "port 
contents abiword" answers that question.

The one in /Applications/MacPorts? Don't manually delete things MacPorts 
installed. Instead, you "sudo port uninstall abiword" if you want to uninstall 
it.
