The basics are that the shell script goes in /usr/local/bin (or anywhere else really, just make sure you edit the plist to point to where the script is). The plist goes in `/Library/LaunchDaemons/`, should be owned by root:admin and have 644 permissions. You can then load the service with: `launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.port.selfupdate.plist` and stop the service with "unload" instead of "load".
