Hi,

Since my upgrade to Mavericks I’ve had a problem with some port fetches consistently running through a long list of mirrors before eventually failing. Your help in resolving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Here is an example of the problem:

Error: org.macports.fetch for port expat returned: fetch failed

Please see the log file for port expat for details:
    /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_textproc_expat/expat/main.log
Error: The following dependencies were not installed: expat libiconv
To report a bug, follow the instructions in the guide:
Error: Processing of port gettext failed

[Attached is the log file noted in the error message.]

This happens with most, but not all, ports. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to which succeed or which fail, except that ports that fail on the fetch consistently fail on the fetch.

This is happening with all of my systems (three: home, work, and laptop). All three systems are
* MacOS Version: 10.9.4
* MacPorts Version: 2.3.1

Things I’ve tried:
* firewall(s) off;
* different IPs on the same network;
* different networks (home, work, public hotspots, other remote locations in the US and Europe)
* Fresh reinstall of MacPorts

Again, thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Best,

Sam
