Hi, In an effort to make sure that I was working in a “pristine” environment I began this afternoon by blowing away my existing installation (i.e., I rm’d /opt/local) and reinstalled from the installer from the MacPorts web site. I also ran “sudo port selfupdate” immediately afterwards and before I tried to install my first port.
I have just now run “sudo port -f self update”, with the following result: Appletree [101] Yeah? sudo port -f selfupdate Password: ---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync MacPorts base version 2.3.1 installed, MacPorts base version 2.3.1 downloaded. ---> Updating the ports tree ---> MacPorts base is outdated, installing new version 2.3.1 Installing new MacPorts release in /opt/local as root:admin; permissions 0755 The ports tree has been updated.
