Hello,

Is there anyone here who runs OS X 10.10 on hardware comparable to mine (i7
CPU, HD3000 graphics) and has XQuartz installed? If so, could s/he please see
if my issue is still relevant with the latest OS (and drivers)?

I won't have to opportunity to test this myself for a couple more months.

Thanks,
René

Bug ID #: 20340867
Bug Title: glxgears: *possible* hang in MAIN graphics engine
-------------------------------------------------------
<GMT29-Mar-2015 21:38:03GMT>
Summary:
quitting the glxgears application bundled with XQuartz 2.7.7 by closing its
window causes a system-wide hang lasting several seconds, during which only the
cursor still moves.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) run /opt/X11/bin/glxgears from the current XQuartz version
2) after a bit, close its window through the close button on the titlebar

Expected Results:
Expected result is that the application exits the same way as when one hits the
Escape key inside its window.

Actual Results:
3) fear the whole computer crashed for a couple of seconds
4) Find the following message on the terminal
XIO: fatal IO error 22 (Invalid argument) on X server ":0"
after 27 requests (27 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
Exit 1

The system.log shows 3 repeats of this "paragraph":

Mar 29 16:30:23 Portia kernel[0]: VBSYNC: (0x12040) = 0x0

Version:
OS X 10.9.5

Notes:

Configuration:
This is on a 13" MacBookPro8,1 with a 2.7Ghz i7 and Intel HD3000 graphics (and
12Gb RAM, so there should be 512Mb allocated for graphics).

All other things being equal, the glxgears application from MacPorts does not
show this behaviour.
