I have no idea; you tell me...

My schedule is: Sunday I "port -u uninstall" to clean out old versions, 
then Monday I "port selfupdate" which tells me to run "port upgrade 
outdated" (and sometimes offers to clean up some space).  I do not 
otherwise fiddle with MacPorts, because I do not know enough to do so (I 
know my limits).  Therefore, any problem could only have been introduced 
my MacPorts itself...
