I'm also on 12.3.1 and haven't noticed any problems with anything I've installed from MacPorts. However there is at least one thing Apple installed that depends on Python. The Automator action "Combine PDF Pages" fails because it tries to use the copy of Python that has been removed. See for example https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253764288. If this matters to you don't upgrade to 12.3.
