thanks a lot to both of you. this (https://trac.macports.org/wiki/ProblemHotlist#clts16) was indeed
it. very much appreciated! also thanks a lot for constantly improving macports which has come a long
way over the last 10-20(?) years :). `port migrate', e.g., nowadays makes life a lot easier and
seemed to have worked mostly flawlessly today for me.
best,
joerg
ps: could/should not https://trac.macports.org/wiki/ProblemHotlist#clts16 be somehow integrated into
the `port migrate' actions? it seems it is a general pitfall currently, no?.

I did a major OSX update (from 12.x to 15.3 ...) and have run into this
problem after having update the Xcode command line tools and issuing port
migrate.
the graphiz package (which is a dependency of the `feh' image viewer which is
the actual package I do need) refuses to install:

I do see this with
clang --version
Apple clang version 16.0.0 (clang-1600.0.26.6)
and I believe this is as it should be with OSX 15.3?
my question: can this be fixed on my side or is this a principal issue
currently?
