gphoto2 install fails

I stumbled today over this already reported issue when trying to install the geeqie port which 
depends on gphoto2:

error message:

error: incompatible pointer to integer conversion returning 'pthread_t' (aka 'struct 
_opaque_pthread_t *') from a function with result type 'unsigned int' [-Wint-conversion]

question: any hope of a fix in sight? or needs this to be reported to the 
gphoto2 project directly?
