Failed to build wxWidgets-3.2

MacBook Pro (mid-2010) running High Sierra 10.13.6.

MacPorts 2.11.3 (updated this morning).

Running my weekly update, I get:

    Error: Failed to destroot wxWidgets-3.2: command execution failed
    Error: See 
/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_aarnet.au.rsync.macports.org_pub_macports_graphics_wxWidgets-3.2/wxWidgets-3.2/main.log
 for details.
    Error: Problem while installing wxWidgets-3.2

The main.log is attached.

It looks suspiciously like something is calling "readlink" with an illegal 
"-f" flag which seems a bit odd.

How could I have stuffed up, or may we expect another update to MacPorts
itself?
