OK, I was able to build from a direct git download of the project's zip, And
the MacPorts GUI app opens automatically after the build, whiel Xcode is still
open.

But when I close Xcode, it closes the MacPorts GUI app, too.

How do I save the app so that I don't have to rebuild it each time I want to
use it?

Is there some action I need to take within Xcode to save some file somwhere?
What and where?

(This may all be obvious to a developer, but to an end-user such as myself it
is not.)
