Well, I got it working, but not in a pretty way. I am uncertain if 'rake
clean' actually removed the compiled code that was linked to my bad
readline in /usr/local because I was having problems no matter what I
tried.
I finally deleted everything in /usr/local/lib and /usr/local/include
related to readline, then recloned your macruby mirror from github to
start from scratch. Then 'rake' and 'sudo rake install' worked.
