Calling NSBigMutableString#tr makes MacRuby crash if the string is not
empty.
NSBigMutableString is for instance the class of the value returned by
NSTextField#string.
To reproduce the bug: macruby -e
"NSBigMutableString.stringWithString('1').tr('a','b')"
