Firstly I don't have a mac but anyway!  I don't and wouldn't label 
the disc itself because it may catch the top of the drive and I find 
back when I had copied CDs badly labelled ones court the top when 
they spun in my CD player.  I do label cases and sleves of discs 
though, that might be better, it has always worked for me.
