Hi Donna,

When you get to the place where you want the ringtone to start, press
Space to pause playback. Then make sure you're focused on Music in the
Source list, press Control-L to focus on the currently playing song,
navigate to the LCD section, and interact with it. It includes such
information as title, artist, elapsed time, and time remaining. Do the
same at the place where you want to end the ringtone.

As for being able to create ringtones purchased from the iTunes
store, I would imagine you can do this if the songs are itunes Plus,
but not protected ones. Anything purchased after April 1 is in itunes
Plus, and you can upgrade most previous purchases to iTunes Plus for
30% of the original purchase price. If you're interested in doing
this, go to the iTunes store, find the web page portion, and locate
the word Upgrade. click the link to see which tracks you can upgrade,
and how much it will cost.

HTH,
Anna
