Hi, I discovered something odd about this problem. I checked the time with right Option-T. Then I pressed Control. Then I pressed Up Arrow, and VO said nothing. Same when I pressed Down Arrow. Then I pressed VO-F1, VO read the title of the current app, and all was well. Go figure. Thanks for suggesting pressing Control.
