Donna,

try going to prefrences under mail.   check to make sure the out going server 
is correct select the server from the outgoing button and check the use only 
this server option.  i had the similar issue and this resolved it.  good luck.

Yes I did the upgrade and that didn't help.

I've had one account that has never worked. Unfortunately, that's my work 
account, which puts a real big crimp in my ability to use the Mac for work 
stuff. The problem with the other account started this afternoon when I 
accidentally deleted my servers from my server list. I have put them back, but 
now they don't work.
