Dear Christina, I haven't noticed any of the issues you mention. Have you repaired permissions after installing Snow Leopard? To repair permissions, go to application then utilities and open disk utility. You should find an option there udner maintenance. There are other programmes that can do it, like Onnyx but you may not have it. it's free-ware.
Again, I'm not an IT expert but others may suggest something else.
