Google should take you to http://mielke.cc/mailman/listinfo/brltty

Yes. Some of the command line options are different, as OS X is based on BSD
UNIX. However, both OS X and Linux support the POSIX standard for the shell
and core UNIX utilities. I don't think casual users will notice the
differences very much.

Also, you'll find that the system administration and networking commands are
often different. OS X uses a directory server to store information about users
and groups, instead of relying on /etc/passwd, /etc/group and other such
files. Under OS X, the dscl command can be used to modify entries in the
directory server - be careful though.

The shell is the same as in Linux (bash by default), and all of the core UNIX
commands support the options and parameters required by standards, so it
shouldn't be hard to adjust to the differences between the two environments.
