Becky, In Pages,this is easy.
Go to File menu Select Export >From the submenu, choose Word... You'll be prompted again for the format you wish to export to, Word will be selected, but to double check, VO arrow to the Word option and confirm. You'll be presented with the typical save dialog box. Choose the location, change the name if desired and press return. Your file will be saved as a .doc file.
