So the question then becomes whether it is worth investing $300 plus 
for a new battery for a computer that reportedly will not be able to properly 
handle Yosemite. (I downgraded to MOuntain Lion after a disastrous experience 
with Mavericks; it is probably safe to assume that Yosemite will need equal, if 
not superior system requirements as compared  to  Mavericks.)
