Hi, Further to what Jeff has said, you can stop this behaviour in TextEdit directly. When in TextEdit, go under the Edit menu to Substitutions and check/uncheck the substitutions that are affecting your productivity. There’s Smart Quotes, the double-dash problem and apostrophe stuff that can be set. Yes, this took me a bit to figure out because I’d copy some long Terminal command from TextEdit and it would screw up in Terminal or Apple Remote Desktop. This fixed it all.
